I've had this 2016 Lincoln MKX with the 3.7 for about three years now and it's been a pretty solid comfortable cruiser for my commute from Sharjah to Jebel Ali but the last month or so the air conditioning has developed this really frustrating habit where it'll be blowing ice cold one minute and then all of a sudden it's like someone flipped a switch and the vents are just pushing out warm humid air and the only way to get it cold again is to turn the whole system off and back on which works maybe half the time and the other half I just have to suffer until I reach my destination looking like I've been through a car wash. I've already replaced the cabin filter and I had a friend with a basic OBD scanner check for codes but nothing came up and the compressor seems to be engaging fine when I pop the hood so I'm starting to suspect it's either a failing blend door actuator that's getting stuck and letting the heater core warm up the air or maybe the expansion valve is intermittently acting up and causing the evaporator to freeze over which would explain why cycling the system sometimes fixes it temporarily. I've been trying to find Lincoln AC Expert Technicians in Sharjah who have dealt with this exact issue on the MKX or the Edge platform because I really don't want to take it to a generic shop that'll just guess and throw parts at the dashboard and charge me for a compressor replacement when the real problem is a thirty dirham actuator buried somewhere behind the glovebox. Anyone else with a Lincoln of this era dealt with intermittent AC loss and actually found a shop on this side of town that diagnosed it correctly without taking the entire interior apart for no reason.
