My Dodge Charger is cranking slow time to stop ignoring it I guess

I've been putting this off for weeks because honestly life's been busy, but my 2015 Charger R/T has started sounding really tired when I turn the key in the morning. It still starts eventually but that slow cranking noise makes me cringe every single time. A buddy told me I'm probably killing my alternator by letting it struggle like that so I should probably stop being lazy. I stumbled across this page the other day while looking for options and figured I'd finally do something about it before I get stranded on the side of Sheikh Zayed Road. The thing is I've never had to deal with battery issues on a modern car with all the computers and I don't wanna mess anything up by disconnecting it wrong. Has anyone here had their Dodge start throwing weird transmission or ABS lights after a low battery situation or am I just being paranoid? Also do these HEMI engines need something specific or will any decent battery do the job? Really hoping I can get this sorted before the weekend because I promised the kids a drive to the Corniche. Appreciate any thoughts from people who've been there visit here http://carbatteryreplacement-abu-dhabi.ae/peugeot-battery-replacement/.
